Una giovane sostenitrice di Jeremy Corbyn scrive sul Guardian: “Ehi, non ci venite a fare del paternalismo, non vogliamo il socialismo reale ma semplicemente una chance, finalmente, di esprimere la nostra voce, di immaginare un futuro diverso, e avremo quasi cinque anni per farlo, trovando anche il modo di vincere le elezioni”.

Blair risponde a suo modo, mettendo insieme Tsipras e Le Pen, Sanders e Trump – cioé: tutti uguali tranne noi persone serie e responsabili, compreso David Cameron e, chessò, il mio caro amico George W. Bush – e con il messaggio più conservatore che esista: “È la realtà, bambina, [non puoi cambiarla] e ci sbatterai addosso”. Con una vena di vittimismo tipo “perché non ci ascoltano più, a me, Gordon Brown e Neil Kinnock?” (chissà, perché), e una riflessione finale sull’onda anti-establishment che avanza in tutto il mondo, con una conclusione: “Tanto non è così, ma a ‘sto punto costruiamo un ponte tra queste due realtà: la mia, quella vera, e la loro, quella di Alice in Wonderland”.

Che finaccia che hai fatto, Tony.

I don’t view Corbyn as some kind of vintage nostalgia, tied up in bunting with a Keep Calm and Renationalise the Railways poster. He offers progress, not the safe stasis of the other candidates”. Blair: “It’s a revolution but within a hermetically sealed bubble – not the Westminster one they despise, but one just as remote from actual reality. Those in this bubble feel good about what they’re doing. They’re making all those “in authority” feel their anger and their power. There is a sense of real change because of course the impact on politics is indeed real. The Labour party is now effectively a changed political party over the space of three months. However, it doesn’t alter the “real” reality. It provides a refuge from it.”.
